XLOV라는 그룹명은 불완전을 뜻하는 X와, 완성되지 못한 LOVE라는 뜻의 LOV를 합성하여 만들어진 이름이다.

멤버 중 현을 제외한 3명이 서바이벌 오디션 프로 출신이다.

우무티 - 슈퍼아이돌^{(시즌1, 시즌2)}, 언더나인틴, 보이즈플래닛, 빌드업: 보컬 보이그룹 서바이벌
루이 - 아토믹보이즈, 보이즈플래닛 [A]
하루 - 보이즈플래닛 [A]

리더 우무티가 수년 전부터 기획해서 만든 그룹이라고 하며, 멤버들을 직접 섭외하였다고 한다.

우무티가 중국, 루이가 대만, 현이 한국, 하루가 일본이 고향이라 동아시아를 아우르는 그룹이 되었다.

멤버 전원이 성인이 되어 데뷔했다. 데뷔일인 2025년 1월 7일 기준 평균 나이는 만 22.3세이다.

멤버들의 생일이 여름과 겨울에 집중되어 있다.

통상적으로 라이브를 진행하진 않지만, 멤버들의 생일마다 특별 인스타 라이브를 진행한다. 2025년 09월 기준 루이만을 남겨두고 있다.

그룹의 인기가 가파르게 성장하고 있는 추세다. I'mma Be 활동 당시 팬미팅 티켓 성적이 저조했던 것과 달리, 1&only 팬미팅은 빠르게 매진[5] 되었으며, 비슷한 시기 판매를 시작했던 독일 투어 티켓은 오픈 3초만에 매진되는 기염을 토하며 투어 장소가 확대되는 등 글로벌한 인기를 입증했다.

우무티[6]를 제외한 모든 멤버에게 친누나가 있다.
